Amsterdam weather is vital if you go there. Then, if you get there, you can make that decision. The Netherlands’ capital and most beautiful city are Amsterdam. Amsterdam sits on the IJsselmeer in the western Netherlands, between the North Sea and the inland Netherlands.

When you think of coffeehouses, canals, and flashing red lights, you might think of Amsterdam. Still, the city has a rich cultural history and beautiful architecture that can compete with any in Europe.

Summer

The summers in Amsterdam are warm and partly cloudy. Even though it’s summer, Amsterdam may be a little cooler than where you live.

From June 11 to September 13, there are 3.1 months of warm weather with an average daily high temperature of over 65 °F. With an average high temperature of 70°F and low temperature of 56°F.

Amsterdam’s warmest month is July. Lows at night are around 13° C (54° F), and highs during the day are about 22° C (72° F).

Summer tourists get 7 hours of sunshine from May through August. Amsterdam weather in summer is great for going there. Because the city is close to the sea, it always rains and has strong winds.

The tourism score indicates that late June through early September is the best time to visit Amsterdam for outdoor activities.

Winter

If you go to Amsterdam in December or January, you can only expect to see the sun for about two hours a day.

Even though it rains, snows, and hails a lot in The Netherlands, especially in the winter, the sea climate makes up for it. The Netherlands snows between 20 and 30 days a year, on average. But when it snows here, it often means that the temperature is going up.

From 9 °C (48 °F) in March to 17 °C (62 °F) in May, the temperature increases slowly. The average temperature at night varies from 2 °C (35 °F) to 8 °C (46 °F).

Bring winter and spring clothes in case: pack two sweaters, a medium-weight jacket, long-sleeved & cotton shirts, and long pants or skirts.

Autumn

In Amsterdam, Netherlands, October is a similarly warm autumn month to September, with average low temperatures of 9.5°C (49.1°F) and high temperatures of 14.6°C (58.3°F). With an average humidity of 88%, October and November see the highest humidity levels.
